Everyone. I have a bitter confession to make. It's not something that I have been able to come clean about for a while now. However, I feel the need to tell you is now. I have an addiction. I know! It's shocking to you all! It shocked me. It's an addiction that I have quickly learned that I cannot get over so easy. As I lay down to sleep, thoughts of said addiction rail throughout my mind, torturing me, turning me into an insomniac who feasts and desires for more when I am not filling my mind with it, and I only lose myself as I consort with my addiction.

Ladies and gentlemen...I am addicted to MineCraft!

At First Glance...

This game, at a first glance, may seem like just a cheap, underdone 8-bit block game. That is what I thought when I first looked it up after a conversation about said game with a friend via the phone.

I simply shrugged off the very thought of the game and went back to my xBox and Soul Caliber 4. However, I did not know at the time how much of an impact this game would lay on me.

However, once I had witnessed the actual gameplay, I became curious and began playing it on my friend's computer. It was, the least to say, the most interesting and biggest games I had ever played.

You start out with Minecraft as simply creating a world, and once you have started that world, you will notice the landscape it vast and well-generated. Every world you create is randomly generated every time, so there is no worry of running into the same world again. It is also very huge! The world, once generated, will allow you to explore it's resources and mine out the land for your survival. It also provides animals that give you meat, skins for armor, and even monsters to fight in the nighttime and caves if you have the settings on "Normal" mode.

You can also collect almost anything and use it to construct wondrous creations! From a simple log cabin to the next White House or Eiffel Tower, you can built anything with anything found in the game. I've seen houses brought up with Obsidian and encased in flowing lava! The Game is truly incredible!

Make it YOUR World!

Like a child with legos, you will be entranced within this game and how simple yet complex it can get. If you choose to simply build, it will be fun harvesting your materials for your creations with tools and items that you have forged yourself! Everything, you must make from scratch, and is fairly easy to soar off into your own world that you slowly begin building yourself.

Exploring is just as satifying. Climbing mountains, rummaging through the desert, and excavating caves. You never know what to expect, so leave no stone unturned, so to speak.

Fighting monsters and other animals is both and exciting and fearful! The game is in first person with no cutscenes, and you must only rely on your quick wit and swing of your own crafted sword coupled with the sudden noises you hear emanating from your foes. Some are weak, and some are deadly. The most feared creature on Minecraft is called the "Creeper." This creature is green, contains an undead stare, and concerning popularity, is probably one of the first things a Minecrafter will think of when talking about the game.

There are two settings to the game. Single Player and MultiPlayer. In Multiplayer, since the game is still being developed, you will have to enter the IP Address of the multiplayer server you wish to go to. However, once there, you will witness other people's creations and be able to add your own to their world at their will. Depending on the server you go to depends on what you will be doing. Some servers are all about PVP combat, while some are freebuild and others allow exploration and survival, just like the singleplayer game.

Now, all of this is enthralling, but there is much, much more! The game is fully customizable as well, allowing you to add Moderations to it to be able to create and gain even more tools, materials, items, contraptions, and allows even more exploration and creativity.

Also, your character's skin, by default, is simply a main with a blue shirt and jeans. However, you can change this skin into anything you want it to be. There are many a websites that contain Minecraft skins that harbor to what you want! Even the game's textures itself is customizable. You can find texture packs to make the game look like it is a classic gameboy texture from HD, depending on what texture pack you want and have added to the game.

Each texture pack and Mod that is provided can usually be found on the Minecraft Forums, and contain instructions so that you do not have to fret how to work it, even if computer illiterate.

Overall, this game is both fascinating and highly addictive! The numbers are increasing everyday, and Memes are popping up everywhere to pay homage to this wonderfully 8-bit game!
